The shape of the plate is based on an actual egg, and fits comfortably in your hand. It's made from Japanese linden wood from Hokkaido. Wood has low thermal conductivity, so warm food transfers heat slowly. Compared to glass or porcelain plates, it's lighter, easier to hold, and less likely to break. The 12cm plate is perfect for serving side dishes, small bowls, and soup bowls, while the 15cm plate is recommended for cereals and stews .
